About get me there
Say hello to the new, smarter way to get around that will make public transport easier to use, more flexible and, in some cases, better value too.
The aim of get me there is to make printed tickets a thing of the past with a range of smarter ways to buy and use public transport, starting with a new get me there smart phone app and a new get me there smart card. And if you already have a concessionary* or igo pass you can take advantage of smart ticketing just by using your existing card.
If you want to be kept up-to-date with how get me there is being introduced, just sign up to receive more information.
*An ENCTS, Disabled or Disabled Plus pass issued by TfGM.
The first phase of get me there on Greater Manchester buses is now live.
Bus users can use a smart card to get better value on Greater Manchester bus services. If you haven't already got a smart card, you can order a get me there card online, over the phone or pick one up at any TfGM Travelshop.
With a get me there or other compatible smart card, you can buy and load 1-day, 7-day or 28-day travelcards that will allow you to travel on any Greater Manchester bus*.
These will be cheaper than the equivalent printed tickets and once your travelcard is loaded onto your get me there card, all you'll need to do is touch in at the on-bus smart reader each time you board.
Smart ticketing on train services will be introduced at a later stage, after the new rail franchises have been awarded in 2016 and after detailed discussions have taken place with the appointed train operators. To make sure you are kept up-to-date about what's happening on get me there, please sign up to receive more information and we'll let you know as soon as more facilities and services are introduced.
The ultimate aim is to create a range of ways of using get me there that will allow you to travel seamlessly across different modes of transport. The get me there scheme is still in its initial stages, but if you sign up to receive more information, we'll let you know as soon as more facilities and services are introduced.
The get me there scheme, which will eventually include trams, buses and trains, is being introduced by Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM).
TfGM is working closely with other transport service providers across Greater Manchester, including Greater Manchester Travelcards Limited (GMTL), the organisation of transport operators behind the existing System One travelcard scheme. Together, TfGM and GMTL are coordinating the introduction of get me there and other compatible smart cards across all Greater Manchester buses.
